Rise of narcissists: The plague that killed poetry

Image
People around me believe I am a cynical person as nothing around me seems to be fit as per the great divine plan and according to the social structure. They say I have the tendency to scrape the rationality out of every single thing. I can’t disappoint them it isn’t my thing. Let’s talk about modern poets. I get the eerie feeling whenever I read or watch the Urdu poets of our modern era. They are the living embodiment of narcissists who would dominate the modern world, according to my prediction (Trump can regard a good example). These narcissists can be seen everywhere as this is all about the new age thinking and philosophy. It’s about having that egotistical approach that everything is phony and only your ne’er-do-well ideas will save the world around you. To be a modern Urdu poet you may require some key elements. You need messy entangled hairs, a rough beard, a dressing style which gives you a junky look, and last but not least a social media page where you can post your

The chaotic moon-sighting

Image
It has become a routine matter in our lives every year that we literally sweat for Eid moon sighting. Every year Ramadan starts and ends with confusion. Its actually quite ironic that in this digital age in which there are countries trying to explore the darker areas of space and we the muslims of India and pakistan still depend on a 70 year old feeble cleric to resolve this obligatory matter for us . The matter is daunting and distressing now as this year we witnessed a feud here in pakistan between the govt minister and clerics. The science ministry lead by ‘not so popular’ Fawad Chaudry declared Eid few hours before the route hilal committee who gets salaries for the only job they almost fail every year to do so. This year it was more baffling for them as they took almost 5 hours to announce the Eid in a perplexing manner as the cleric leading the committee looked fragile and unclear while announcing the festive day. And if that wasn’t enough , a sectarian rift started immediate

Dr Frankenstein or Corona?

The entire world is fighting against coronavirus while we the people of Pakistan are still trying to overwhelm the bedlam which has been widely observed in the country. The situation looks very grave as the total number of cases has reached up to 43158 with 923 deaths.   So far, the only death cases media news channel reports are related to the novel coronavirus and this has literally pissed the people off. They are being forced to question/ponder as if nothing else is happening in Pakistan; no accidents, no robberies, no murders , or general cardiac-related deaths, suddenly everything just vanished. Meanwhile, the government claims that we are dangerously heading towards an emergency but instead of taking stringent measures it has removed the lockdown which is very disturbing for the people. On the other side, people are alleging of being cheated regarding their coronavirus tests. Several videos have surfaced on the social media in which people can be seen claiming that private

The Road Not Taken by Robert Frost

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood, And sorry I could not travel both And be one traveler, long I stood And looked down one as far as I could To where it bent in the undergrowth; Then took the other, as just as fair, And having perhaps the better claim, Because it was grassy and wanted wear; Though as for that the passing there Had worn them really about the same, And both that morning equally lay In leaves no step had trodden black. Oh, I kept the first for another day! Yet knowing how way leads on to way, I doubted if I should ever come back. I shall be telling this with a sigh Somewhere ages and ages hence: Two roads diverged in a wood, and I— I took the one less traveled by, And that has made all the difference.

Be careful, you are not immune!

Be careful, you are not immune!  The federal cabinet has approved the most-wanted decision of easing restrictions in the lockdown after May 11. The ease in lockdown brings good news for small business owners like garment/cloth sellers, shoe shop owners, mechanics, and spare parts shop owners. Earlier, we also witnessed that the lockdown was not truly being observed by the general public as they can be seen on the roads and in the grocery shops without following the SoP’s recommended by the government. It was rumored that the government will be forced to open the markets and transport in the coming week. But, unfortunately, the government’s policy of ease in restrictions has been misinterpreted by people as complete removal of lockdown. While the cabinet has only allowed a few, specific industries to reopen to prevent an economic collapse, but many people have taken it as a green signal to return to their pre-lockdown routines. The traffic has returned to the streets, busin

10 must watch spellbinding drama movies for your quarantine days

These days the attack of novel Covid-19 has forced us to spend most of our time at home. The isolation period leaves us with very limited options of entertainment as they wear out after sometime and the only option we are left with is to switch to our streaming sites and look out for perfect flicks.   Seeing thousands of movies and series annoys a person. Here I come into the picture. I (known for my weirdly good taste) am going to recommend you some exceptionally good movies which are going to enthrall you from the beginning to climax. Trust me not even a single movie will disappoint you. Here is the list: The Irishman   Martin Scorsese helped codify the gangster genre with films like Goodfellas and Casino, and now he’s returning to the genre with The Irishman, a film that plays many of the same notes as earlier gangster stories, but in a minor key. Based on historical events, the film follows Frank eventually doing jobs for crime boss Russell Bufalino (Joe Pesci).

10 life changing books to read before you die

To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee To Kill a Mockingbird is a favorite book of pretty much everyone. The protagonist is a young girl named Scout and except for her father, all the main characters in the book are marginalized by the power structure of their town — a structure that still exists nearly everywhere — where wealthy white men control the lives of everyone else, and even the members of that group who want to use their status for something honorable, like Scout's father Atticus, cannot win against the flattening wave of that power.  Until something about that structure really changes, this book will remain required reading for every person around the world. Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov Vladimir Nabokov’s astonishingly skillful and controversial work of fiction introduces us to literary professor and self-confessed hebephile Humbert Humbert, the perhaps unreliable narrator of the novel. Cloaking his abuse in the allusive language of ideali
